Opened on Mardi Gras Day, February 7, 1997, Juan’s Flying Burrito began as a hole-in-the-wall, ultra-casual, punk-rock-blaring, wannabe San Francisco Mission District burrito shop. We were never trying to be traditional Mexican — just New Orleans people making burritos our way, blending the flavors, soul, and swagger of our home into our brand of not-very-authentic Mexican food.
Our brand was born in New Orleans, Louisiana — shaped by the city, the food, the attitude, and the people.
